I used this to make a wall in my painting studio all cork board so I could put up drawings and paintings with push pins. It works perfectly, and at a fraction of the cost of manufactured cork board panels made specifically for this purpose. You have to provide your own adhesive and push pins, but this cork board is great!

We used this cork board as a liner in our old house walls then put sheep’s wool insulation batts. The cork allows air movement and keeps moisture from the wool. The wool and cork together make perfect insulation for our old 1830 house in southern Virginia.

I used it for sound absorption to make a sound proof window plug for my bedroom window, in combination with 3/4" plywood. Weather stripping all around the window frame to seal any air leaks. I haven't used this order of cork underlayment yet, but a previous order has been under a large area rug for a couple of years, just laid down and partially duct-taped panel to panel. The rug never moves, the cushioning is superb, and I'm doing my little green part thanks to this great product!

We used 1/2 inch corkboards for a very large circular bulletin board at the Lakeside Nature Center in Kansas City, MO. The boards was flexible and pliable enough to encircle a 10 ft. diameter column in the lobby, while at the same time sturdy and durable to last as a display for the center. We had to cut and piece one section, and we were able to do this with just a box cutter. We covered it with burlap very easily just using a staple gun.

The 1/2" sheets sheets were exactly as described and worked very well. A negative was the packaging. The free shipping was a nice feature, and it was impressive that my order shipped out same day. However, many of the boxes arrived with tears and punctures, some of which led to damage to the cork underneath.

I had painted a mural on the guest room floor. It took weeks, and the polyurethane coating three times. I didn't want any damage to occur when we put the exercise machine (Not, but like a bowflex) in the room. It works perfectly, They said not to put a rubber-backed rug on the floor, so I knew I needed something more natural. The cork is the perfect answer. I will use a few more when I paint the room with the pool table and dart board in it. So many holes in the wall!

Great product! The only issue I see is the packaging. My box arrived via FedEx in pretty bad shape. Perhaps this was due to the current high volume of shipments. But, you might consider a bit more packaging protection for the corners of the sheets.

Quality product, fast shipping
I've ordered from WidgetCo a few times, and both times the boxes arrived quickly. I've personally used the 1/4" and 1/2" for various projects and never had quality issues. Easy to cut with a fresh Olfa blade and straight edge. It is sold as underlayment, but I have used the product in multiple exposed vertical applications in an experimental house. In my professional life as an architect I have also put this product into the specs for a commercial project as tack surface. The edges are not perfectly square, but in a space where the wall will be covered with stuff tacked up, they are sufficient for the price, and I think better looking than linoleum based tack surfaces that are much more expensive.

Excellent Quality for a different purpose.
I am building bulletin boards for a client. This was the thickest cork I could find for the price. It arrived with in 48 hours of ordering it. I haven't started in on my projects just yet, or dug to the bottom of the box, but it arrived in a sturdy box, nothing is broken as I can tell, and its a great thick quality. I will remember this site for future orders!

I am using the cork underlayment as a backing for my dart board, to protect the wall around it. I adhered several sheets of it to an 1/8" hardboard and mounted it to the wall. So far (3 days), it is working well!

Biodegradable Rug mats
My rug pads were thick and nice and soft. They were wool with rubber backing. But they were also disintigrating, full of dirt, not cleanable and heavy. I had to put them into the land fill; a cost for our community. As an experiment, I bought a box of cork underlay to go under my rugs. They work really well - No rug slippage, no smell of rubber, they're lightweight and easy to put under the rugs. The cork acts as a natural barrier to our cold floors and my cats love to sleep on them. Also they've stopped rolling the rugs up in balls at night. They were also much less expensive than the nice, thick wool underpads with rubber. The downside is that they are a bit hard. So Im stillworking on this experiment but if these underalayment panels keep me from feeling the cold floor, they'll surely do the same for you.

Great Material at a good price
Used the material to build-up my new laminate floor to the level of the adjacent travertine. Worked great. Only thing - double check how much you need. I used the SQFT from the thinner material (96 SQFT) to calculate the needed amount. The thicker material only covers 48 SQFT. Oooops...

Good product at a good price
I started searching for half inch thick tiles that were one foot square for a cork board, but the price per square foot was making me rethink the project. This product was just as good, easier to affix to the wall with a little silicone caulk, and less than half the price per square foot. I saved effort and money and have enough pieces left over to make a second board! The panels were nice and square, with no damaged corners. They were within a sixteenth of an inch of their advertised size of two feet by three feet.

Made the perfect underlayment for an engineered Brazilian Cherry hardwood floor. We used the 1/2 inch and produced a much better surface for a floating type installation. The boxes came banded, as WIDGETCO really understands how to pack and ship the high quality cork and minimize damage during the fast paced shipping process you can expect these days. They figured out the right amount of weight and number of 2 x 3’ panels per box (8 panels yielding 30 lbs per box) to minimize damage potential and it works; all of the panels were nearly perfect. Of course, the quality of the cork, being very high grade also contributes to its robustness as well. I highly recommend this company and product!

We purchased the cork for our flooring project to go under engineered hardwood. So far, the installation of the cork was easy and the floor is going over it nicely. We also used a plastic sheet under the cork to prevent any possible moisture damage. But it is not necessary. Delivery was super fast and the sheets were not damaged despite some rough looking boxes. The cork felt nice to the touch but it is a little brittle as it is only an underlayment.

Just what I think I needed
I am using this cork underlayment to deaden the sound of my HO train engines. With all the operating sounds now available it is important to reduce background noise to a minimum. The flat sheets certainly make it easy over rolled cork. I do wonder if I can/or need to glue it down to the plywood panel underneath. I don't have any results of the effectiveness of the cork yet but will let you know. I just wish that the item were available in half packages ( 4 sheets) since a box and a half would have been plenty for me (I think). Right now it looks very promising that this product will do everything that I hope it will do. No complaints whatsoever with this company! Shipping (FREE) was really fast. Thank you!

Just what I needed!
Found this flooring through a web search after trying to get similar products at my local stores. Price was great! Shipping was fast! Product is excellent! If I did flooring projects with 12mm cork underlayment regularly, I would definitely be buying this stuff all the time. For anyone thinking about sanding this product, it holds together well even when using a belt sander.
