These are finely milled plugs with straight sides vs tapered. They are superior to the tapered in my opinion as I have used both.

Ipe Plugs And Foreverbolt Stainless Steel Screws I just completed a large IPE project...I love the plugs that I bought from WidgetCo. They were uniform and worked well. I was told by a friend to buy FOREVERBOLT stainless steel screws from Zoro and the plugs from WidgetCo. Both worked amazing, Thank you WidgetCo

A major upgrade for my deck I have a 660 sq ft IPE deck. 20 years ago I built it with flush counter sunk stainless steel screws. The IPE and screws are fine but those screws betray the amateur I am. Replacing the IPE and using hidden fasteners is something like $9,000. Not gunna happen. I decided to countersink the existing screws and plug. To test I ordered a couple of dozen 3/8 in IPE plugs on a Friday from WidgetCo and they arrived Monday! I used a carbide countersink from Amana Tool - IPE eats steel. I glued them in with Gorilla Max Adhesive Clear - it is what the ape recommends for a deck. Sawed off the plugs with an oscillating saw and sanded flush. Perfect! WidgetCo Sales was nice enough to send a personal note of encouragement. That Monday I ordered the remaining 3,400 plugs. Arrived on Thursday. WidgetCo ships within an hour or two. A lot of work ahead but for a modest expense I'll have a great looking deck. I can't believe I waited this long. Thank you WidgetCo.

IPE plugs & Widget service Had a delay in shipping by USPS, likely related to the covid-19 pandemic; when I contacted WidgetCo, they apologized for the delay and immediately shipped me my order by 2 day fedex. Ipe plugs The pro-plugs do not fit perfectly into the pro-plug system, but the Ipe plugs from WidgetCo look better and are of higher quality than the pro-plugs. Highly recommend these plugs over other name brand plugs.

Premium plugs!!!!! These plugs are extremely high quality! Out of 2600 plugs I have only 20 or so that are substandard. Would definately buy from again.

The best plugs we could find These plugs come nicely finished and fairly uniform in color. The ones we purchased from our Ipe deck board supplier were rough which made it difficult to see the grain direction. Some of the suppliers plugs were chipped and unusable too. Right product right time Plugs worked well to replace loose and missing plugs in ipe deck. Arrived quickly.

Fast and perfect Arrived quickly, and exactly as described. To fill the holes in my ipe handrail I followed these steps: 1) Used a counter sink bit to drill a 3/8" diameter hole before attaching the railing with a stainless trim head screw. 2) Cleaned the hole and sprayed it with just a bit of water mist. 3) carefully applied a small amount of urethane glue to the edges of the hole - not too much I didn't want it pushing the plugs out. 4) Install plugs, tapping gently with a rubber mallet to seat them 5) allowed to dry 24 hours. 5) Used sharp chisel, on its bevel edge to carefully knock down the excess plug - be careful! Sometimes the grain shears off below 'grade' so I set the chisel up just a touch. 6) Sanded to bring the plug and wood surface to the same level. 7) Applied Penofin. It looks great! Definitely worth the extra few dollars to plug the holes. Would definitely order again.
