# 4 thread protectors used on bike fenders
I did not use these as a thread protector. I had installed plastic fenders (SKS brand) on my old Specialized Hard Rock bicycle and the mounting hardware provided made it difficult to cap the end of the support stems. They were a size to big(#6). I discovered their size by going to the local hardware store and trying to find a smaller size. Provided the original parts would have worked just fine if I cut the support stems to the proper lengths to stretch over the bolts and hold in place. Unnecessary work. I was very happy with the ordering and shipping process. It was fast and easy!

Perfect fit
These #4 thread protectors fit #4 bolts nice and snugly. I also use them when repurposing wire coat hangers - e.g., to make s-hooks of various lengths to hang things up to dry - these caps cover the sharply cut ends perfectly.

Not all quite uniform
Ordered #4 and #6 screw protectors and you would expect at $.0.29 each that they would be as good, if not better, as the ones(Hillman) I've picked up at Sears Hardware. They were not uniform in length and some where thicker on the outside than others. Since Sears Hardware is temporary out of stock until they get their financials re-established with vendors we had to locate another source. Price WAS quite less st SH. If this purchase was at 0.19 each then I wouldn't be writing this review.

High quality and rare size
These screw protectors are much smaller than what is available in the hardware store. Much cheaper, too. I plan to use these for covering ends of metal pins, rods, etc.
