How easy it is to drill holes in the Silicone Rubber Stoppers? if yes what type of drill bit do you need?

Perfect fit for my need
I bought a #3 and #4 size into which I wanted to install a 1/2" OD stainless steel dip tube for my beer brewing kettle, which has a welded outlet. I made a slightly smaller than 1/2" hole with a cork hole borer. The cut was clean and the dip tub fit perfectly in each. The two stoppers both fit into the hole in my kettle, just with differing depths of insertion. The seal is good and should work well to hold the dip tube rotated into the correct position.

The stoppers I purchased and received were advertised as being the correct size for plugging beer and wine bottles. Unfortunately for me they were not, as they are too large in diameter. I was forced to go out and buy a couple of inferior quality stoppers at the local Target at a cost of six dollars. I must now go through the trouble of returning the three one inch stoppers I purchased for a refund.
