My order(ing) was slightly delayed because the cork underlayment I needed was out of stock, but it came in on schedule and they got it to me practically overnight. It's been a few years (maybe 10) but I found the same great products (ordered new cork coasters, too), same excellent service, and same great prices. I cannot recommend Widgetco more highly! Last time, the underlayment was for laminate flooring. This time, it is on an exterior wall for additional sound dampening under another decorative cork tile product (also from a Houston company) for our foosball room. (LOL So the neighbors don't think we're shooting at one another).

I found the cork material to be very good quality.

The underlayment sheets arrived promptly. The boxes were not packaged well (the tape was torn), but all the sheets were there and intact. I installed them a few days ago and they look great. The size was true on all of the sheets and they were easy to install. I chose to loose lay them since I am still deciding on a final floor. In some areas I put double sided carpet tape underneath seams. Right now I am using the floor as is with an area carpet over it. And I just ordered more to do the same in another room! Nice product - thank you!

I use the cork for my model train layout. It works and looks fantastic. The size is a big plus because I'm not trying to haul around a big roll. I have gotten several compliments on the layout since I started using your product. I will get more.

Pros: The product itself is excellent for a floor underlayment. Easy to install and the size of each sheet covers a significant amount of floor area. Cons: I would state that the packaging/shipment of the product was poor. When it arrived the contents were practically falling out to the container. Luckily, none of the product was damaged. Perhaps it was just an "one-off" and not indicative you your overall packaging/shipping process.

1/4" (6mm) Cork Underlayment The first time I used this product (2 yrs ago) I use the 1/8" (3mm) and was very happy with the way it pieced together on the floor. I don't remember if the instructions state to tape the seams together but I did with masking tape (it stopped the cork from shifting while putting the floor down). The floor I'm doing now, I'm using the 1/4". It helps keep cold out from under side of the house, and is an excellent cushion for the flooring. Cork by its nature, tends to crumble at corners, etc., I find the 1/4" holds up a lot better and is still easy to cut to shape with a box cutter. Another up side to the cork underlayment, if you have any left over when your project is done you can put it on the wall for a bulletin board. I highly recommend this product.

New Room addition I used the 6mm on top of my 3/4” plywood sub flooring for an upstairs Addison. The 2 x 3 sheets were very easy to use and makes a noticeable difference, making the floor quiet, and subtly softer. This is the second time to use this product for this purpose and I’ll use it again.

Remodelling I needed to replace old carpet (covering plywood flooring in a 35 year old house) with an engineered hardwood floating plank floor. I used quarter inch (rather than the usual eighth inch) cork sheets as my underlayment. It was easy to work with and provided a wonderful smooth surface that covered minor surface irregularities and poor plywood seams. It also provided excellent sound and temperature insulation. I especially loved that it was mold resistant and free of unhealthy chemicals. The floors are quiet and comfortable to walk on even on the second floor. It exceeded all my expectations! Installation only required a sharp blade for fitting and duct tape over the cork seams. The cork was a pleasure to work with !

6mm Cork Underlayment Received the order Saturday evening. Let me give you some feedback on the condition of the carton. The tape on both ends were split open which let the box flex in the middle causing the cork to stay in a bent mode for some period of time. I laid a few sheets out on a flat surface opposite the curl and believe they will flatten out over time. This is probably not important to flooring jobbers but for what I will use them for it is. Thanks for a good product and quick service.

Job Well Done We used this on a concrete floor as a backer for vinyl plank flooring. We went over existing ceramic tile and needed to make up a difference of a 1/4" where it transitioned back to concrete. It went down easy and the new laminate floor matched the height the of ceramic tile. We needed to meet a sound rating requirement for tenants below and this product met the requirements.

After I install entire room then I will will know the difference between two room for noise reduction.

Good stuff The installer had not used this product before. Since it was essentially like installing two floors he had hoped I would not go with it. But on a cement slab floor I really wanted the cushion, insulation and sound proofing. This seems like it has been well worth going the extra mile. Also glad we installed the cork in sheets vs. A rolled material.

Awesome Underlayment for Laminate Flooring!! We purchased this 6mm Cork Underlayment to prep our old wood floors for new laminate. I cannot stress enough how simple this product is to fit and laydown. We had some unevenness and small gaps between our old flooring boards but this cork took all the variation and creaks away and created a very nice surface for our new laminate. When the job was completed walking on the new flooring was quiet and very comfortable. We highly recommend this product as an underlayment for laminate flooring!

6mm 2'x3' cork - Great Quality I ordered one box and I must say, I'm relieved it didn't fall apart upon taking it out of the package. It's sturdy yet light and flexible. I was prepared for the worst but I'm so happy spending that money now!

Rolls vs Sheets We had previously used the roll of cork before finding this website; rolls are harder to work with as it does not easily lay flat. So to finish up the project I decided to go with WIDGETCO sheets, best price with shipping I could find. Great product After a lot of research I used these 1/4" cork sheets under Armstrong LVT vinyl planks (floating). The vinyl planks did not really need an underlayment but I hoped the cork would keep the floor a bit warmer since this house has an unheated crawl space. And it did just that. In addition, the subfloor had a lot of imperfections and little gouges from digging out a zillion old staples after removing the old carpet. The cork just magically created a smooth and level surface for the new flooring. Very easy to use and super environmentally friendly. I highly recommend this product. It doesn't give off noxious fumes that linger forever either. Delivery was very prompt and cartons arrived undamaged.

Excellent product! I purchased this underlayment to line some drawers. I also am getting hardwood floors so I plan to use some under furniture to prevent scratching and denting. The cork is sturdy yet cuts very easily. I am not particularly handy but i am having no trouble using this. I plan to buy a much larger quantity to actually use as underlayment under my new flooring. I spent quite a bit of time looking for a great price for cork. WIDGETCO seems unbeatable. Also, a lot of people talk about a weird and strong smell with some cork. There is a faint smell to this cork but it is not unpleasant at all.

Great stuff I never used cork underlayment before, and had a very pleasant experience, both with the 1/4" cork and WIDGETCO. This product was everything I had hoped, and our floors (floating engineered wood on above grade slab) are now warm and quiet. There was a very slight smell that I think is natural for the bark and why it is root and insect resistant. Installation was very easy (I even did some cuts with a pair of scissors). Shipping was fast and you can't beat the value. P.S. I wish I could give WIDGETCO six stars, one extra to make up for the silly one-star rating below.

Cork underlayment Totally happy with the cork I ordered from WIDGETCO. Came a day earlier that expected. Very prompt service. My mom is planning on ordering when she gets ready to do her laminate floors. Very nice product to work with! I had never layed laminate before but was SOOO easy with the cork sheets. Very happy and pleased with the finished product and look forward to the next flooring project. My flooring was done upstairs over wood subfloor. Sounds very solid and quiet.

Buyer beware of Widgetco refund policy! I purchased 7 cases of the 1/4 inch underlayment with free shipping. No where on the initial sales page or the checkout page did Widgetco inform me of the return refund policy. I was expected to return 7 huge cases of underlayment on my own. I was told to shop around for the most cost effective shipping company or use my own shipping account (which i do not have as a regular retail customer). After extensive email correspondence with the Widgetco rep I was told they will provide the FedEx shipping label and pickup for $190. I spent $455 on 7 cases so that means the return shipping cost is 42% of the total cost of merchandise. I initiated a chargeback with my credit card company for the amount of the return shipping. Widgetco defended themselves by saying they never received the merchandise. Thankfully, FedEx has tracking numbers on the 7 cases. Clearly, widgetco is enthusiastic to make a big sale but not so quick to take back their product when you don't want it.

Great company to work with Unfortunately I had to return my order of cork panels because we decided on a different process. I received a refund immediately after they received my return shipment. I would buy from them again and would recommend them.
