Solved my problem.
I ordered the Maple in 1/2, 3/8 and 1/4, to use as markers on a Lap Steel Guitar fret board. The amount of work I save is very appreciated and these enhanced my project's appearance. I did not want to resort to plastic and looked everywhere for Maple, that was not "end grain". These were the perfect solution to my fret markers. And they look beautiful.
